I would have to disagree 100% with Mr. Josh. While the NHL playoffs have been more exciting, the NBA playoffs have had more people watching this year which = more money…plus the finals could be Kobe vs. King James, which is the NBA’s Dream Matchup!  It’s all about the $$$.
Sorry Mr. Josh but I have to disagree.
Top 5 Biggest Sporting Events in the World…
1. (Tie) Super Bowl and Indy 500
3. World Series
4. Summer Olympics
5. Daytona 500
HM: Final Four - MCBB, NBA Finals, Kentucky Derby, and World Cup.

You threw out any ounce of crediability when you have the World Cup on there as anything but first and FAR beyond any of the others.

“The World Cup was first televised in 1954 and is now the most widely-viewed and followed sporting event in the world, exceeding even the Olympic Games.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_World_Cup#Media_coverage

“The sporting event with the largest worldwide audience is the FIFA World Cup. Other events that have been described as “the most watched” per various definitions include the Summer Olympic Games, Tour de France, Cricket World Cup, Rugby Union World Cup, Super Bowl, and the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.”

And I’m not here to argue about this and take the time to look up all the stats I did last summer of how the NBA is declining, and not to mention just generally sucks, while hockey is growing. It never has and never will have as large of a market as the NBA or NHL but that doesn’t make it right. So saying that the only thing that matters is ratings/money (are you seeing any of that?) is outlandish. The hockey playoffs are far superior whether or not people want to take the time to learn the sport (Look at soccer in US vs. every where else in the world).

P.S. I didn’t make this “more-better” above. It’s from another blog, where people vote on which is better
